STATEMENT: I noticed my resident garden spiders at work on some salvaged hawthorne roots left sitting on my verandah. So I began a collaborative artwork with them, using gold wire to capture the sunshine on their webs. While their work was more emphemeral, their weaving was far superior to mine.
ARTIST BIO: Miriam's studio is located on the NSW Central Coast. Primarily a printmaker, she manages the usual juggle of creative practice with adult literacy teaching and horticultural work. The bush, the beach and her work-in-progress coastal garden are her happy places.
