ARTIST STATEMENT: Amphora vessels were the ancient worlds’ standardised way to transport the fruits of life, food, water & wine. Two expansive handles allowed easier carrying and a long slim neck sealed with reed stoppers, reduced the surface area to prevent oxidation of the wine.
ARTIST BIO: Denise exhibits her work widely in Australia and Internationally and her works have been selected Canada, Ukraine,UK and recently a finalist in Australian Textile Art Awards. In 2021 she participated in a group exhibition in the Netherlands and won highly commended in the Bowral Sculptural prize.

ARTIST STATEMENT: When the street tree gifted me this branch in lockdown I decided to create a basket with the essence of ‘home’. The iris grows in my garden, and the Combungie grows in a storm drain close by.

ARTIST STATEMENT: Many countries export their plastic problems offshore without focusing on the long-term negative effects. The discarded materials used could be seen as ‘rubbish’. The diversity of colours reflects the smorgasbord of coloured plastics found in tips, waterways, and land fill.
