ARTIST STATEMENT: Large Bosc style pear carved from seasoned English Oak (Quercus robur), mild steel stalk and Marine Spar Varnish. Shaped primarily with a chainsaw before sanding and finishing.
ARTIST BIO: Moving to the Narrabri area in the NSW North-West for the last few years led to the opportunity to try chainsaw carving and metal trades such as blacksmithing. I enjoy combining these two elements often in botanically inspired work.

ARTIST STATEMENT: Salvaged Camphor Laurel timber with mild steel stalk and leaf. Outdoor grade varnish. Chainsaw, rasp, grinder and sander were used on the timber, stalk and leaf have been shaped and textured using blacksmith techniques.
