Big Imaginations Welcome!
Sculptures in the Garden isn’t just for grown-ups. SIG for Kids invites young artists to create, explore and experience sculpture through our annual kids exhibition, hands-on activities and interactive experiences throughout the event.
Important Dates

2026 Theme: Carnival
Whimsical, Wild & Full of Wonder
Step right up! This year’s SIG for Kids theme is Carnival, where imagination can run wild.
Young artists are invited to create a fun and fabulous sculpture inspired by the magic of the carnival. Think dazzling performers, curious creatures, bright lights, sideshow surprises, spinning rides, games, laughter and wonder.
All entries will be exhibited in a dedicated children’s exhibition area at Rosby throughout Sculptures in the Garden 2026. Works must be weatherproof, and interactive sculptures are encouraged.

From creating sculpture to getting lost in a hay bale maze, there’s plenty for young visitors to see, make and explore throughout SIG 2026.
Storytime & Carnival Creations
Join Felicity from Mid-Western Regional Council Library for a fun session of storytelling and carnival-inspired creations designed especially for young imaginations.

Get lost in a-maze-ing fun – dash through our hay bale labyrinth for an adventure the kids will love!

Get creative with Michael Bourke and Mudgee Arts Precinct and transform everyday rubbish into your very own Carnival Monster. All materials are supplied, just bring your imagination!

SIG for Kids - Carnival Theme
This year’s SIG for Kids theme is CARNIVAL — and it’s every bit as fun as it sounds.
Local young artists were invited to create a sculpture inspired by the magic of the carnival: acrobats, clowns, carousel horses, fairy floss, ferris wheels — a whole world of dazzling performers, bright lights and wonder.
All entries are on display in a dedicated children’s exhibition area at Rosby Wines throughout the event. If you’re bringing the kids, this is not to be missed.

My Kingdom for a Horse
This year, you’re invited to be part of something special.
My Kingdom for a Horse is a collaborative community sculpture project where visitors of all ages can work alongside professional artists to build life-sized horses from locally gathered sticks and branches.
Artist-led sessions run daily from 11am, with no experience needed. After SIG, the completed herd will be gifted to communities across the Mudgee Region.
